performing the dumbbell lunge

The way a dumbbell lunge works is relatively simple. You will hold two dumbbells at your sides. The weight of the dumbbells can vary depending upon your current strength levels

What muscles do these lunges stress? Essentially, the lunge works all the muscles in the lower legs in a manner no different than a squat. However, unlike a squat, a lunge is not a mass building exercise. It develops the muscle and slightly increases the size. It will definitely enhance the shape and strength of the movement. Performed without weights, a lunge can develop the lower body quite well. With dumbbell weights, the exercise is even more helpful which makes it even more effective. Also, the weight of the dumbbells can add slight stress to the triceps and shoulders. This can effect these upper body muscles in a slight manner.
