Rangers can claim to be the most successful club in Scotland, with over 100 domestic league and cup wins to their name. The club, however, began life in 1872 under more humble circumstances, playing early matches on the public park of Glasgow Green.
Rangers share a great rivalry with Celtic and their ground, Ibrox Stadium, attracted a record attendance of 118, 567 for an Old Firm match in 1939.
In Europe, the Gers have contested the final of the European Cup Winners Cup three times, winning the trophy in 1972 against Moscow Dynamo.
