Initial BIOS ver.
Feature
The most powerful PC motherboards, i945Ga-PLF and i945Pa-PLF.
The two motherboards are the first ones that support dual core
CPUs, which are the fastest Intel CPUs currently on the market.
Both motherboards can be installed with Pentium 4 processors with
front side bus running at 1066/800/533 MHz.
The i945Ga-PLF motherboard is built with Intel&8217;s
state-of-the-art 945G chipset on which a graphics processing unit
is integrated. As a result, the user does not need to install an
add-on graphics display card to this motherboard. Because the 945G
chipset is designed to follow PCI Express architecture, those users
who desire to take advantage of powerful 3D graphics processing
capability or gaming enthusiasts can install more powerful graphics
card to the system.
Both i945Ga-PLF and i945Pa-PLF are designed with AOpen&8217;s
proprietary Power Master Technology, which reduces power
consumption of the new motherboard by 25%. This technology,
implemented with hardware design, monitors the loading of CPU and
supplies power to the motherboard accordingly.
When loading of the CPU is high, more power is supplied to the
system, the operating frequency of CPU accelerated, and the rpm of
the cooling fan stepped up. In case this happens, the system may
achieve overclocking. When the system runs graphics intensive or
gaming applications, more power may be consumed.
When the system runs applications which are less demanding on CPU
loading, the Power Master design will supply less power to the
system, which generates less heat, and the fan speed slowed down.
Eventually, the system generates less noise than similar
systems.
The two motherboards are built with ICH7 (Input/Output Controller
Hub 7), which provides the most powerful and fastest I/O control
features currently available in Intel&8217;s family of I/O
controllers. ICH7 is designed with embedded Serial ATA-II and IDE
hard drive interface, Intel&8217;s High Definition Audio Interface
that support 7.1 surround sound, integrated LAN Controller, and
enhanced video processing capability.
A unique I/O shield comes handy at the motherboard&8217;s rear
panel. It arranges the rear panel connectors in such a thoughtful
and convenient way that 7.1 audio connectors, two PS/2 ports, two
COM ports, four USB 2.0 ports, one 1394 port, one Realtek Gigabit
LAN port, and one printer port are grouped together as shown in one
of the photos published together with this press release.
The motherboards are designed to support the fastest dual channel
DDR-II memory modules that operate at 667/533 MHz. Memory on the
motherboards can be expanded to 4 GB.
Do use the latest driver version available, it will help you use
the facilities of your hardware easier and better. An old version
can create hardware conflicts and errors in function. Try to stay
updated with your drivers monthly or sometimes weekly. Chose wisely
the specific drivers: motherboards driver, bios, graphic cards
drivers, modem drivers and so on. Chose the right driver for your
hardware and try to make backups of your system every time you want
to make a change.
